Selection Process

The Department of Political Science is the ASU Beneficiary and responsible for the selection of the annual Calvin M. Holman Political Science Scholarship. The chair of the department will appoint a Selection Committee consisting of department faculty, staff and one representative of the Holman family. Initially, this representative shall be one of the following: Elizabeth Holman, daughter Mary Holman or son Cal Holman. The family representative may share the applications and essays with other family members and then provide feedback on the applicants to the Selection Committee. An application will be required of students interested in being considered for the scholarship. Faculty may also identify and nominate students who would be good candidates. The Selection Committee will then contact these students and invite them to complete the application process.
