Purpose of the Scholarship
|
This scholarship endowment was established in 2008 by Calvin's family,
Elizabeth Holman, Cal Holman and Mary Holman in honor and memory
of their husband and father, Calvin M. Holman. The scholarship will provide
scholarships for political science students in the Department of Political
Science, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, ASU Tempe campus. The deadline
for the submission of applications is February 15.
Elizabeth Holman and her family established the Calvin M. Holman Political
Science Scholarship Endowment in April 2008 to honor her husband, Calvin M.
Holman. Calvin served 10 years in the Arizona Legislature, representing
constituents in Paradise Valley, North Phoenix and Sun City. This
scholarship is a tribute to his dedication and service to the citizens of Arizona.
It is the family's hope that this scholarship will encourage students to
explore service in the legislature and a career in legislative affairs.
Scholarships are approximately $1000 per year typically awarded in the Fall
semester.
